Hello Notacon community members!  From time to time, we like to help promote other events that fit the spirit of what we’re about.  Today we want to talk about fiver different events that we encourage everyone to participate in and attend if possible!

June 15-17, 2012  in Boston, MA

@party is a great North American demoparty run by sceners for sceners.  Featuring many remote entry categories as well as a fantastically good time, we encourage everyone to attend or, at the least, submit a compo entry!  It’s very affordable and perfect for you East coasters!

June 29-July 1, 2012 in Columbus, OH

Tyger and I had a blast at the first Ba-Con last year and look forward to being there again this year in their awesome vendor’s area.  Ba-Con celebrates and showcases many different aspects of geek culture and is, too, a great and affordable event organized by some very motivated and passionate fellow geeks.  Book your rooms now and look to see us there!

September 27 & 28, 2012 in Grand Rapids, MI

GrrCON is a great infosec and hacker con organized by our friends in Michigan.  They have an impressive list of presenters this year, including Kevin Mitnick, Nick Percoco, Jon Streufert and many, many others.   Registration is limited, so sign up now for they sell out!

September 27-30, 2012 in Louisville, KY

Running concurrently with GrrCON and also in their second year, DerbyCon is a great centrally located hacker con.  Derbycon also features a fantastic list of presenters this year including Kevin Mitnick (what a busy guy!), Tom Eston, Jayson E. Street and many more.  Also attending is Notacon’s own and favorite nerdcore rapper, int80 of DualCore! See us in their vendor/sponsor area!

Exceptionally Hard & Soft Meeting
exploring the frontiers of open source and DIY
December 28-30, 2012 in Berlin, Germany

Sebastien Bourdeauducq, who presented this year on the MilkyMist video synthesizer, informed us of an awesome DIY/Open Source hacker conference of sorts in Berlin this winter. Featuring presentations more on the hardware side of things, it looks to feature some awesome topics not covered at most other conferences including microprocessor design, 3D printing and signal processing among others. What better way to ring in the new year than to head to Berlin, attend EHSM and stick around for another few days to celebrate hacker culture with our European friends?

Of course, this is hardly an exhaustive list of great events, but these are some in particular we wanted to showcase and support!
